15 Care Certificate standard workbooks · 7 induction, supervision and development packs

The Care Certificate is the agreed minimum standard for new health and social care workers in England. Regulation 18 requires staff to receive the training and support necessary to carry out their duties, and Regulation 19 requires evidence of the qualifications and competence they hold. This module provides one workbook per Care Certificate standard — all fifteen — written for the way a care home actually delivers induction: read, discuss, observe in practice, sign off.

The remaining packs cover what happens after induction. A structured staff induction programme that sequences the fifteen standards against the first twelve weeks. Individual, group and clinical supervision templates. Reflective practice. Annual appraisal and personal development planning. Together they produce the training and supervision record an inspector asks for by name — and they replace the recurring per-head cost of buying somebody else’s slides.

What this module is written against

Written for England. Every citation below is a CQC regulation, an English statutory instrument, or national guidance an English care home is measured against — no generic UK-wide hedging.

CQC Regulation 18
Staffing — staff must receive appropriate support, training, professional development, supervision and appraisal.
CQC Regulation 19
Fit and proper persons employed — evidence of the qualifications, competence, skills and experience the role requires.
The Care Certificate
The Skills for Care and Skills for Health framework of 15 standards for new care workers in England.
CQC Regulation 12
Safe care and treatment — competence must be assessed, not assumed, before a member of staff works unsupervised.
Health and safety law
HSWA 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 require adequate health and safety training.
